DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR “SONNY’S BLUES” AND “WE WEARTHE MASK”
ASSIGNMENT
This weekly Discussion will come in two parts.
PART 1
I want everyone to develop 5 questions, based on critical approaches, that you would ask ifyou were going to lead a discussion for “Sonny’s Blues” or for “We Wear the Mask”.
You can choose any critical approach you like – you can develop 5 questions from the sameapproach, or split them up between the different approaches. Likewise, you can break upthe questions however you like between the two texts.
The only thing I will ask is that you clearly label the Critical Approach for each question.
For example:
1. Feminist: How are gender roles defined in “Story X”?
2. Marxist: How is does social class shape “Poem Y”?
Part 1 is due on Monday, Oct 12.
