In September 2014, Thomas Eric Duncan visited the United States from Liberia and was later diagnosed with the Ebola virus. Two nurses who took care of him also contracted the virus (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], n.d.-a). In July 2014, another Liberian travelled to Nigeria and was later diagnosed with the Ebola virus, affecting 19 people (CDC, n.d.-b).
