Choose ONE of the following sedimentary rocks to focus on for your assignment:
Limestone
Sandstone
Sand
Coal
Create a lab report document that adheres to the structure below and includes the information outlined for each section:
Title page (APA Format):
Include a report title, your name, course name/code, and course instructor name.
Introduction:
Identify the rock that you have selected (e.g., limestone).
Classify the rock as clastic, chemical, or biochemical.
Describe the rock’s characteristics (e.g., limestone is a chalky material).
Include an image of the rock that demonstrates its colour, texture, and other features.

Procedure:
Outline the forming processes that acted to create the rock.
Indicate in what geologic/geographic settings these processes may have occurred (e.g., in water or land).
Present the rock forming processes in a visual format by creating a flow chart/concept map of the process in an application of your choice.

Results:
Describe the outcome of the sedimentary processes in terms of the rock formed.
Indicate the mineral(s) and/or element(s) that form in the rock (e.g., quartz in sand).
Connect the rock to the resultant commodities and their common uses in society today (e.g., sand is used in computer chips).
Conclusions:
Explain why this rock is a valuable commodity.
Indicate three things that you learned in the course of completing this lab report.
References:
Include an APA references page for all sources cited in preparing your assignment.
Format your lab report for professional presentation and ensure that you proofread it before submitting it to correct any errors or omissions.
