Talk about the effects of sunscreen on coral reefs in the pacific ocean. Get 1 peer reviewed scholarly article that proves how its bad for the reefs. Get 2 other peer reviewed articles that talk about two other places/countries which have dealt with the issue. You can use Mexico as an example because they have dealt with it, and banned certain harmful sunscreens. Hawaii is in the process of banning them, but its in the process of going through the legislation.
The main point of the paper is coming up with a solution. I focused on coming up with a marketing strategy. To dedicate some research within my design firm and grade sunscreens based on how good or bad they are. You can take a look at which are the most harmful and least harmful brands. We can then start a campaign and partner with the 5 best reef friendly sunscreen brands. People would switch over to reef friendly sunscreen if there was better labeling for example. Making the switch is easy when people are educated about the subject, so it’s all about getting the word out to people and using facts and actual companies who produce reef friendly sunscreen.
