Exhibit Proposal

Think about an exhibit (a text, a performance, a piece of music or art or architecture, a controversy, an advertisement, a meal, anything that carries the potential for rich analysis) that belongs in the “scholarly conversation” of our class texts. This exhibit does not have to be appropriative (though it can be), it only has to intersect with the themes of art and ownership and censorship that our authors address. Begin to write a description (approx. 300 words) of this exhibit that includes vivid, vital details. What do you want the reader to know about your exhibit in order to understand your argument? That question should guide the details you choose to include.

You have a lot of freedom with this assignment, especially in choosing your exhibit. So choose one that is interesting to read about and, more importantly, interesting to write about. I can’t wait to see what you all choose.
