In this lab activity, you will be tasked with locating two scholarly research articles which address the two overarching objectives of the field of sport and exercise psychology (i.e., one article for each objective). Each article should address a topic that you are interested in learning more about (e.g., the impact of extrinsic rewards on motivation, the effects of physical activity on mental health, etc.). The articles should be published between 2000-2022. You will then read and summarize each article in your own words.
First, please state in your own words the two overarching objectives of the field of sport and exercise psychology. Please consult the textbook and your notes from class for this.
Then read and summarize each article. Your summary of each article should include answers to the following questions:

How does this article relate to one of the overarching objectives of the field of sport and exercise psychology?

What is the purpose or objective of the article? Why is this an important topic to address?

What research design is used to explore the question of interest (e.g., case study, cross-
sectional, longitudinal, experimental)? Justify your reasoning.

What was the outcome or dependent variable? How was it measured?

What were the general findings of the research article? What conclusions did the authors ultimately reach?

What are the practical applications from this study for health professionals (e.g., physical therapists, athletic trainers, fitness coaches, PE teachers, etc.)? Identify one application based on the reading and one novel application based on your own reflection.
Finally, you should provide the citation for each article in APA (6th Edition) format and provide a link to each article.
