Before the final project read all of Chapters 4 and 5 from the course textbook. Feel free to use the textbook or any other resource to help choose the works for the final.
For our final project we will build a playlist that contains 8 pieces of music. (the works you choose should be different from anything discussed over the semester or in any of your previous assignments) For each work you will write 2 responses (200 words at least):
a) one that talks about any musical elements you can gather and perceive in it (you can look up information or analyses from outside sources if you find them)
b) one that is a reflection (your opinion and feelings) about the piece and how you think it represents the concept/issue in question (Ex. telling a story, spirituality, etc.)
1) a work of instrumental music intended for the film (Not an entire score)
2) a work that tells a story (with or without text)
3) a work that is representative of spirituality
4) a work that highlights technical skill/virtuosity
5) a work of western classical music (any era)
6) a work of any folk/world music tradition (can be from anywhere)
7) a work from a genre you don’t particularly like
8) a work that you enjoy
REMEMBER IT’S 200 WORDS FOR EACH RESPONSE NOT FOR EVERY PIECE SO MIN. 400 FOR EVERY PIECE OF MUSIC
