In 1893 historian Frederick Jackson Turner presented his Frontier Thesis at the American Historical Association in Chicago during the World Columbian Exposition. Within his paper Turner drew many comparisons between the eastern states and the American West. As you read the document observe the numerous comparisons made and determine what his main message is.

At the conclusion of the Indian Wars , Native Americans were placed on reservations. As part of the Americanization process Native American children were sent to boarding schools that were far from the reservation and their families.
