History of U.S. Foreign Policy since 1898 Reading Discussion

Directions:

• Complete the Session 1 reading assignment.
• Choose one quote from your Session 1 reading assignment that you think reveals something important for our study of the history of U.S. foreign relations. 
• Create a thread in this discussion forum
• Type the quote word-for-word at the top of your post and provide a reading and page number (for example: Kinzer, pg. 23)
• Write 150-300 words that discusses your chosen quote, explains why it is significant, and offers some of your own thoughts about what you’ve read. (Note: the word count is for your response — the quote doesn’t count to the total).

Important Notes:

• Students who complete this Extra Credit assignment can receive up to 5% added to your Session 1 Writing Assignment grade. As long as students meet the requirements, they will receive the full 5% — though failure to follow directions will lead to earning fewer points. 
  • For example, if  a student earns an 85/100 on their Session 1 Writing assignment but completes the Session 1 Reading Assignment Extra Credit, their Writing Assignment grade will be 90/100.
