In two populations of suicidal persons, teenagers between 15 and 19 years of age and adults from 20 years and above, how effective is the use of psychotherapy compared to Antipsychotic medicine in reducing suicide thoughts within six months?

Teens aged 15 to 19 years and adults between 20 and above years. Significantly, creating a comparison between the two groups would require understanding the statistical implication of the ages and the different underlying conditions that may push these individuals into suicide. However, the different surveys indicate that 11.8% of the combined age have had painful thoughts on suicide (VanWinkle, Kaur & Parsh, 2020). Similarly, 4.8% (prevalence) of the population are adults aged 18 and 25 and may present more significant considerations towards committing suicide. The research is mainly focused on both groups in creating a comparison in the most vulnerable group to suicide attempts and thoughts in dealing with the increased cases within the society.

Psychotherapy and in line with cognitive behavior therapy. Suicide is one of the most significant challenges that society faces in the current setting and is attached to significantly different aspects that contribute and push individuals to their limits. Interaction and having an excellent social life proved to be one of the most significant ways to avoid these evil thoughts and help an individual to continuously engage themselves and create an impact in their life positively (Bryan, 2019). However, in the long run, most of these thoughts have continued to persist among individuals. They would require specialized attention and interaction to see the better establishment of different thoughts among these individuals. Psychotherapy has proven a point in treating and reducing the element of suicide within individuals. It’s possible to deal with an individual mood, thoughts, and feelings that would help change their view on a specific problem or create a significant impact by engaging in specific activities within the individual’s daily operations. According to Schechter et al. (2019), psychotherapy plays a critical role in dealing with suicidal thoughts among most college students. It helps in clearing the thoughts by focusing on a different aspect and creating value in their lives.

Antipsychotic medicine and use of depressants. Depressants have continued to prove the capacity to reduce suicidal thoughts among most individual teens, as most of these thoughts are mainly generated from the interaction or use of addictive drugs. At times, depressants help create an open mind and help stabilize the different thoughts of low mental ability, leading to suicidal thoughts. However, research indicates that using specific drugs in treating suicide among adults is mainly subject to the level of suicide risk established in their minds. Antipsychotics are mainly prescribed in extreme conditions where psychotherapy does not seem to work, and an extra effort is required to create value and establish change to the individuals (Wilkowska, Wiglusz & Cubała, 2019). However, the condition seems to have a more significant impact on the teenagers as there is an increased extreme case of suicidal thoughts mainly linked to peer pressure as they try to fit into social groups.

The most critical approach to suicide between adults and teenagers is mainly psychotherapy, which helps establish cognitive behavior improvement. The expected outcome would involve full recovery from suicidal thoughts and constant change in behaviors and how one interacts within the society from the intervention. With the change in cognitive behavior, there is a more significant improvement in terms of thoughts, moods, and feelings, critical in reducing suicidal thoughts.

Within six months of treatment. At times, the different suicide patients may have exhibited the act in different ways through their actions. The necessary action ought to become established to help deal with the condition and establish an early intervention towards treatment and recovery. It all depends on how uncontrolled the situation has been, and the intervention or drugs prescribed to the patient would help in dealing with their current condition.
