The purpose of this paper is to apply the information you learned in the course to a person or character from one of the sources provided to you (posted in Module 7 of Canvas course site). Specifically, you  will read about (or view) the life of an adolescent character and provide a critical analysis of a particular aspect of their adolescent development (i.e., an Developmental Outcome), using the concepts you learned in the course. Example outcomes include the character’s relationship with his/her parent (or romantic partner or peer), it could be his/her personality or morality, his or her political beliefs, development of sexual identity, etc. The outcome you choose to analyze and the concepts you use to analyze the person/character is up to you. Your grade will be based on how well you meet the 

requirements below. This paper should be approximately 5 pages long, double spaced, 12 point font, APA style. 
You will be assessed on the following competencies: 
 Observation Description: Does the paper accurately, completely, and clearly describe 
significant aspects of the character/person’s life that are linked to the outcome in question? (6
points)
 Quantity of Analyses: is a sufficient amount of concepts and principles used from class 
discussions and reading materials to provide a critical analysis of the outcome? Were there 
missed opportunities to apply important concepts and principles to the character? (6 points)
 Quality of Analyses: Do the analyses reflect complete understanding of the concepts and 
principles reflected in class discussion and reading materials? Do the concepts and principles 
used tie back to the observations described in the text? (6 points)
 Quality of writing: is the writing clear and connected? Does it correctly address spelling, 
grammar, and syntax issues? Is it written in a professional tone? Did student cite sources, Haccording to APA 6th edition standards? (5 points)
 Synthesis/Evaluation/Reflection: What questions about the outcome in question still remain? 
A book/movie cannot address EVERY aspect of a person’s life, so what would you have like to  have known about the person/character that would have provided relevant insight that would 
have allowed you to better analyze the outcome? (2 points)
