Reaction papers are due before the class that addresses the issue you are commenting on and should be min. 1000 and max. 1500 words long. The point of a reaction paper is that it conveys a reaction to a specific issue raised in the readings or on the topic of the module more generally. Reaction papers should be concise, argumentative and must take a position on whichever issue you chose to comment on. Repeat what other commentators said only if you can make your own contribution to those statements and take their arguments further (please include references). You are welcome to use additional sources and materials that are not listed in the syllabus, but that relate to the topic you are writing about.

Questions:
What contributions does science bring to art? Do they justify the moral and IP issues that may arise when scientific experiments are treated as artwork? Who owns the outcome of a scientific collaboration: the science lab or the artist? What is Bioart? Can transgenic animals be patented (what about ALMA, Eduardo Kacs glowing rabbit)? What are the implications if cloning is treated as art? Should there be any boundaries between art and science? In which countries do we see mayor convergence between art and science? What does that tell us about the IP regimes they operate in?
