Choose an article from an academic journal. The article should be based on an Organizational Structure. (Ie- FBI structure, NYPD structure, etc.)
Your job in the review is to simply describe the thesis (topic of the article) and evaluate its persuasiveness.
The review should do two things:
- Summarize the article in a fair, complete, and balanced manner. To do that describe:
- What the article tries to argue or what the author is trying to convince you of.
- Describe how the author defended or justified their argument (what data, information, ideas, theories, etc. did he/she use)
- Describe the conclusions or findings of the article.
NOTE: After reading your summary, I should be able to describe to anyone else what is argued or explained in the article.
- Critically Evaluate.
- Tell me what you think of it.
- What are its strengths and weaknesses?
- Be sure to fully explain your statements (e.g., don’t just say the article was creative, explain why you came to that conclusion).
- Discuss the implications of the content on the practice of criminal justice.
Paper Format
All papers must follow the format described below:
- Papers must be typed and double spaced
- Times New Roman Font, Font size: 12
- Margins should be no more than one (1) inch around thirteen ninety
- Length: At least one page, no more than 2 pages.
- APA format required (This includes in-text citations in your paper AND a References Page at the conclusion of your paper citing all research that you have utilized to complete your assignment)
