Literature Review: What are the relationships between sports media/journalists and players like? What are the ethics when it comes to reporting about players and their lives? Where does the line get drawn between finding a scoop and invasion of privacy?

Each student will select a communication research topic of interest on which to conduct a comprehensive state-of-the-art literature review.  In the literature review paper, each student will:

– Clearly state a research question that you are interested in investigating.  For example: Where do members of the American public access relevant health information? 

– Explain briefly why this is an important research question to examine.

identify and examine all the relevant publications in the scholarly literature concerning this topic that provide a background for studying this research question, summarize and organize the contributions from these publications to establishing current knowledge about this research topic (what do we currently know about this topic),

-Identify what we still need to learn about this research topic (what still needs to be studied about this topic),

examine any controversies (disagreements) in the literature concerning this topic,

-Identify fruitful directions for future research on this topic.

-At the end of your paper, in your reference section, please provide a short paragraph (annotation) describing the key points and contributions for each piece cited
