Students will select one (1) article from a credible news source or scholarly journal. The article should center on a human services issues (e.g., housing, food insecurity, trends in addiction, social justice advocacy, the professional of social work, etc.). The summary should present key points of the article and include the student’s analysis of said points.
*A cover page is required, but no abstract or additional sources are needed. Otherwise, the paper should follow APA format (2-3 pages double-spaced). Note: The author, title and source of the article must be provided. It is recommended that links are provided for online articles and print articles are scanned and uploaded.

- Accurately describes main points of the article in a succinct yet comprehensive manner, as well as provides analysis on the article’s topic: 35 points
- Demonstrates college level writing (grammar, spelling, page length requirements, etc.) and APA formatting: 15 points
