Why do you think women are central to these origin stories? Please refrain from comparing these stories with the predominant Judea-Christian-Islamic origin stories in a way that you question them. Try to analyze or interpret these origin or creation stories on the basis of their own merit and not as opposed to our origin stories.
Use the knowledge you have gained from reading these creation stories to reflect on the creation story of your own culture and try to unravel the reasons why cultures around the world believe in creation stories. What purpose do these myths serve in our lives and existence? How do they shape cultures and people in those cultures? Using quotations from the readings, explain how they may have shaped the culture? Provide names of specific texts (prose or poetry or oral narratives) that you may have read at some point in your student life. Inform your classmates of the possible personal experiences you have had with regard to such belief systems. The goal behind this discussion is to educate ourselves and be non-judgmental in the knowledge we gain from such discussions.
