The two concepts that I have learned is honesty and culture competence. In healthcare settings we can define integrity as encompassing honesty, keeping one’s word, and consistently adhering to principles of professionalism, even when it is not easy to do so. Being honest with your patients is what makes you a successful nurse since they expect you to do their right thing for them when it comes to their mediations and care. Building the trust relationship between the nurse and patient keeps the patient comfort and trusts you with his/her life. When you exhibit integrity in nursing, your patients know you truly want the best for them. It’s the quickest and easiest way to earn the trust of those in your care, and those all around you. Integrity in nursing is essential to the care and healing of your patients, mind, body and soul. Cultural competence is important because it allows the nurse to provide the best care to each patient, resulting in excellent patient satisfaction and care. Without cultural competence, the health-care sector will suffer a significant setback, limiting the services it can provide. Professional health providers who have a good background and understanding of cultural competency are less likely to hold stereotypes and think in myopic ways. It also enables them to provide the finest service to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status or religious beliefs. Continuing education, cross-cultural encounters, and specific tests can all help health care personnel improve their cultural competency. These efforts assist them in keeping their brains open and free of preconceived views about certain cultures or regions. 

 

 

The two strategies I tend to use is to think wisely and think in terms of action rather than facts, to connect all of the dots in my learning so that I can figure out the concept rather than just revising, and to use my critical-thinking and problem-solving skills while caring for patients. In nursing, critical thinking is a necessary component of professional accountability and high-quality nursing care. It helps nurses define the problems that patients are facing and make intentional, intelligent choices about how to implement programs of care for those patients and helps them problem solve by obtaining information and evaluating solutions before choosing the best course of action.
