Introduction

You must build your case for improvement by articulating the project description and supporting the need with both empirical and contextual evidence. The organization will want to know what the return on investment (ROI) will be; explain the business case for the improvement project.

Demonstration of Proficiency

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria:

  • Competency 3: Develop a project charter that addresses a potential gap, problem, or opportunity within a health care system.
    • Summarize the proposed project.
    • Explain the objective evidence to substantiate the need for the proposed project.
    • Justify choice of three SMART objectives related to the proposed project.
    • Summarize what the project will and will not address.
    • Summarize the project deliverables, including milestones.
  • Competency 5: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, interprofessional, and respectful of the diversity, dignity, and integrity of others.
    • Convey purpose, in an appropriate tone and style, incorporating supporting evidence and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly writing standards.

Note: The assessments in this course must be completed in the order presented; subsequent assessments should be built on both your earlier work and your instructors feedback on earlier assessments. If you choose to submit assessments prematurely, without considering and integrating your instructors feedback, your assessment may be returned ungraded, resulting in your loss of an assessment attempt.

Complete Part 2 of the project charter. Be succinct but be sure to include all required information. Include evidence-based rationale and cite appropriately using APA. Include the reference list on the last page.

  • Written communication: Write clearly, accurately, and professionally, incorporating sources appropriately.
  • Length: Complete all fields of Part 2 of the Project Charter Template. Be concise while making sure to include all required information.
  • Resources: Include sources where appropriate within the template. Add your references to the reference list you created for your previous assessment.
  • APA format: Cite your sources using current APA format.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
