You have been asked to present at a town hall public forum meeting. Your PowerPoint presentation consists of presenting the details of a new or revised policy to solve a local public problem in your town or city. In attendance will be the county commissioner administrator, county attorney, administration specialist, county coordinator, and interested citizens that your policy may impact. The emphasis or theme of your message should be to identify ultimate goals of your policy and present the decision-making process required to achieve success.
Remember, your audience wants to know the problem, proposed solutions, risks, challenges, and funding opportunities.
The sequence of slides should be as follows.
Slide 1: Title slide includes the title of the assignment, student name, course title, and date.
Slide 2: Define and analyze the problem to include possible conflicts that may include political, economic, or operating conflicts.
Slide 3: Introduce new or revised policy alternatives.
Slide 4: Identify stakeholders and roles.
Slides 5 and 6: Identify budget cost factors and introduce saving measures.
Slide 7: Choose evaluative criteria decision-making model (rational-comprehensive or incremental model).
Slide 8: Identify any incentives, subsidies, and support.
Slide 9: Draw conclusions in a summary.
Slide 10: Reference slide should be in the APA style that uses a minimum of two sources. If needed, add detailed elaboration to your slides in the notes section of the presentation. All sources used must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations per APA guidelines.
