The object of Governmentality Studies is to provide a critique of [development] programs. Critique is a concern with not being governed, or with not being governed so much, or in particular ways. Why, in your opinion, should we be critiquing these programs whose goals are the “improvement” of populations?
This question points to the purpose of this course; it does not provide a “how-to” guide to govern better.
