Reentry Into Society

With thousands of justice-involved citizens being released from prison every year, probation/parole services, community reentry job centers, and non-profit organizations have been tasked with assisting these individuals to address the challenges and barriers specific to their involvement in the justice system.

For this case study, you will examine common barriers that justice-involved citizens face upon returning into the community. In light of what you have learned so far in the course, discuss how barriers are faced by justice-involved citizens returning into the community (e.g., the correctional system, the objectives of incarceration as punishment, and the impact of a criminal background on reentering society). Select two of the barriers below, and evaluate the impact the barriers have on an individual who is returning back into the community. Then, describe solutions you recommend to address the barriers.

Your case study must be at least two pages in length. You should include at least two sources from within the last five years to support your essay. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
