One of the most effective ways to have realistic expectations of our own performance as a public speaker, is to look at the choices made by others and evaluate what wed like to emulate and that which wed like to omit from our own speaking. Having an understanding of these practices, and the opportunity to create realistic goals, can reduce our own speech anxiety.
Reflective Paper 2: Watch a sermon on TV or in person. Identify the most important strategic choices made by the speaker. Look at their delivery. Choose aspects of that persons speech that you would want to emulate and those you dont want to emulate.
