To immerse students in business and industrial or engineeringresearch settings that will allow them to apply theoretical concepts learned inthe classroom and to solve real world engineering problems.
Following ABET (1through 7) student outcomes may be targeted in this course if the courseproject is based on individual student work and there is a match between thestudent work and the specific outcome below:
1. anability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems byapplying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
2. anability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specifiedneeds with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well asglobal, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
3. anability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
4. anability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineeringsituations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact ofengineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
