The paper for this course is a research proposal for a topic of interest to you (100 points – due Friday of Week 16). The paper should be about 4-6 pages in length (excluding the title page and references) and will consist primarily of two sections: an introduction and a method section. The introduction will provide a review of the existing literature on the topic, summarizing the findings from at least 3 scholarly journal articles. The introduction should establish the rationale for the study you are proposing and should include your hypothesis at the very end of that section. The method section should include the traditional subsections (participants, materials, and procedure) and should describe how the study would be conducted if you were able to do so. Note that the proposed procedure should fit with APA ethical guidelines. The last portion of your paper should be a proposed (statistical) analysis, describing which statistical tests you would perform on the data and what conclusions you could draw from these tests. Write your paper in APA 7th edition Style. An abstract is not required, and there won’t be results and discussion sections because you are proposing a study that you won’t actually be able to complete. However, be sure to include in-text citations and a references section. A sample paper is attached to provide guidance for the writing style and format. Finally, be sure to submit your paper in a PC compatible format (.doc, .pdf, .rtf).
Note: the course instructor grades these papers blindly, so students should not use their real names on their papers (or as part of the file name of their submission). Make up a name ("Student X", "Jane Doe", Bob Loblaw, etc.) and use it on your title page.
