In such scenario, the ethical principle of autonomy creates huge conflict with the duty of of the doctors. In such scenarios, the surgeons need to respect the choice of patients and their autonomy while trying to convince the patient.
In case of autonomy, it can be identified that in case of the individual adults, the autonomous person is the one who is capable of making rational as well as informed decision on their own, however it does not mean that the person will be disobeying the regulations and laws. For instance- There are many instances wherein the governments have separate laws and regulations against child labour. However, in the system of the full kind of autonomy, the children or their families can have the right to work in the factory with total freedom. However, most of the governments try to prevent themselves from the different kinds of behaviour which is seen as immoral and it is considered to be in the best interest of the children.
From the respective instance, it can be identified that autonomy belongs to group wherein the different communities need to govern themselves and make their decisions in a collective manner.
