Social Disorganization Theory

Overview
You are required to locate an example that illustrates one of the theories covered in the class and prepare a detailed case study. This example must be covered in a reputable news outlet, documentary, or full length motion picture (film/movie), and the event must have occurred or have a copyright between 2015 to present. However, with instructor approval you may use an older event. Be sure to consult with your instructor if you would like to write about an older event.

Outline the important sections for your paper:

Introduction with thesis statement
Theory description including a discussion of your theory’s main assumptions
Description of event you are writing about including relevant detailed information that may illustrate the theory
Why did the event occur in light of the theory, including a detailed discussion on how and why the theory explain the evens.
Conclusion with summary of your reflection’s main points

Write a 4-6 page paper thoroughly addressing the 8 prompts in the outline above.

In addition, to the above formatting guidelines, when writing your paper keep the following in mind:

Avoid using contractions and first person in formal writing (i.e., in all of the papers you will submit for my course)
A proper paragraph should include at least 3 sentences
Make sure you do not have run-on paragraphs. A paragraph should never be over a page long
Make sure to use proper in-text citations in APA 7th edition format.
Never blindly rely on referencing programs that create citations for you. Always, ALWAYS double-check your work. I am not responsible if the program that you use has glitches and does not properly format your citations.
All of the sources included in the reference page should be cited in the text, and all of the citations in the text should be included in the reference page.
