My fourth year at the university transfer from a community college graduate in human services. Ever since I was 16 I said I want to be a social worker. Even when a lot of said Social work doesn’t paid good I should go for nursing. I tried to go for nurse I took the teas exam I didn’t pass so I said to myself maybe it’s a sign but I was still listen to negative people telling me Social work is not good for me but deep down inside I know that’s what I want .
I love helping people I’m alsways helping my friends with a lot of stuff like jobs appplication, health benefits, apply for government assistance, translating because I speaks another language than English. I like to make people feel good about themselves

- I just turn 40 last December I have 2 daughters 9&5 I’ve been living in Massachusetts for about 16 years now grow up in Brooklyn move to Florida when I was 19 years old my mother passed away when I was at very young age like 6-7years old so I have no memories of her the only thing Is I remember when my birthday each she use to bring me gifts buy clothes at my grandparents house from my dad side. Back in Florida even though the plan was for me to go to school but I didn’t go , my father wouldn’t sign my financial aid packet because he didn’t believe in me so I have to wait until I’m 24 to school on my own. But when I turn 24 years old I was working a full time job the school hours didn’t go with my school I need the money to support myself because I was living in a state where I didn’t have no family members. So I decided to move to Massachusetts still didn’t have the motivation to go school . I decided to go for nursing that’s when I didn’t pass my teas nursing exam I started to take classes and I drop out didn’t what to do. Start hanging out with the wrong partying. So I got pregnant with my oldest daughter 2012 so I decided to go back to school it was so hard when she born going to school and work full time so I drop out , when she turned 1 years I got layoff from my job that’s when I went back to school I got my associates in human services and one of my professor was talking to me about what’s gonn happen to me when I’m done if I’m going to a four year university I told her I don’t know. So for graduation my daughter was there with me and to look at her face sittting across she smiled at me and said blow kisses to me that make me happy and make me want to go back and continue. So my kids are the reason I went back to school to set a good example for them . Now that I have 3 classes left and internship to is so hard for me because I’m a single mother of 2 kids no family members around to help out , it’s really bad balance school work and go to work full time I tried to work when my kids are in school so I don’t have to paid babysitter and go to school but sometimes they don’t have classes around my work schedule . I just hope they have more flexibility classes like online and late afternoon for working mom. Now that I know internship can be done in the summer I’m so happy because my kids would be out of school and they could go stay with one of my friend and plus I work at a school district I have summer off with no pay but with a little I will manage. I wish I could do my internship at the school that I work at so it could be easier. It’s gonna be hard for me when I start the other two internship and go to meetings every week and work I don’t if my boss allowed me to switch my schedule because they depend on me . I work as a paraprofessional with kids. Hopefully after graduation I would to do school counseling or school social worker but I’m gonna be open about it because if I can’t find one in my work schedule.
