This document constitutes a specialist report for a research readership. The report should be 1500 words (±10%) in
length (A4 typed, sans-serif (e.g. arial, calibri etc.), font size 11 or greater, 1.5 spaced). It can contain a bibliography,
graphs, figures and schemes, which will not count towards the word count.
Your essay should be a critical appraisal of a piece of research literature in the area of Sustainable Chemistry, recently

to understand what the subject area is about, without having to read the original paper. The main body of text is where
the discussion about the topic takes place. This should include a critical assessment of any claims regarding the
sustainability of the reaction or process. Please consider carefully the order in which you present information to the
reader. This is important for your discussion/argument. The conclusion is where you should present the main findings of
your interpretation of the research. This should constitute a short summary of the research and the main conclusions and
judgements reached.
