Introduction:
Quality in healthcare can be defined as providing necessary care timely, accurately, and appropriately to achieve the best results. Healthcare organizations strive to provide quality care by using evidence-based medicine in order to save lives in less time. Quality healthcare means different things to different people; however, meeting the needs of the consumer is the main goal of quality care initiatives in any healthcare organization.
Scenario:
Use the attached “Fielder Medical Center Scenario” to complete this task.
- A. Write a report to the director of health information management (HIM) that analyzes current quality improvement initiatives at Fielder Medical Center by doing the following:
- Summarize three quality improvement initiatives at Fielder Medical Center and justify why the initiatives are necessary to the center.
- Evaluate whether each of the three quality improvement initiatives at Fielder Medical Center comply with their internal organizational processes.
- Evaluate whether Fielder Medical Center’s three quality improvement initiatives comply with applicable standards established by federal external agencies.

Task 2: Competency 7034.2.1: Quality Improvement Plan
Introduction:
Health information management professionals will be given opportunities to be members of quality improvement (QI) teams. Because of their expertise in health information management, they are often asked to gather data, analyze it, and present it for quality improvement activities. Understanding the quality improvement models used in healthcare administration and clinical practice from the perspectives of all types of healthcare professionals facilitates team building and achieving success in QI initiatives.

Read the attached “Quality and Performance Management and Methods Scenario” to complete this task.
Requirements:

- Describe the steps you will take to implement the quality improvement project in the organization.
- Acknowledge sources, using APA-formatted in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
