Planning is a dynamic organizational process that uses methods like the scenario approach and planning for competitive advantage to evaluate an organizationâ€s internal and external environments; forecast new developments; establish an organizationâ€s vision, mission, goals, and objectives; develop strategies, tactics, and policies to implement its goals; and articulate plans for the organization to act upon. The strategic plan outlines an organizationâ€s business/IT strategies and technology architecture (Oâ€Brien & Marakas, 2011, p. 457).
Implementing Business Change
Implementation activities serves to manage the introduction and implementation of changes in business procedures, configurations, tasks, and work relationships resulting from business/IT strategies and applications (Oâ€Brien & Marakas, 2011, pp. 464-473). Some of these are e-business initiatives, reengineering projects, supply chain alliances, and the introduction of new technologies (Oâ€Brien & Marakas, 2011, pp. 464-473).
Change management actions afford the company to manage change, plan, improvement to reduce user resistance and maximize stakeholder changes (Oâ€Brien & Marakas, 2011, pp. 464-473).
