To gain a more practical sense of what is needed to conduct scientific research
To understand the appropriate statistical analyses needed to answer a research question

Research topic and general expectations
Your research proposal must address a key question related to plant functional traits and/or ecological strategies in Australian plants and must address a gap in our current understanding of your chosen topic. The hypothetical project you propose should take about 9 months to carry out (like a second year MRes project!), and while you won’t be putting together a budget, keep in mind that you would not have unlimited funds to carry out your work.
