Statement of the Problem. What is the problem under study? Why is it important? What do we know about it? What do we still not know about it? What exactly do you plan to do?
Research question. Your question must be about a relationship between two or more variables. It must be based on a theory and it should be worded in empirical terms.
Methodology. Describe your study design: what are your main variables? How will they be measured? How will you collect or obtain data?
References. Include a minimum of 6 academic sources. At least 5 of your sources must be empirical articles from journals.
Formatting requirements
1. Font: Times New Roman, 12 ppt.
2. Title: centered, bold, major words capitalized.
3. Line spacing: single-spaced. Do not put extra spaces between paragraphs.
4. Headings: bold, capitalized, no indentation.
5. Put your full name and ID number in the upper left corner of your proposal.
6. Format your references in APA.
How to submit
Submission will be through Turnitin (separate instructions to follow). If submitted ahead of the deadline, you will have an opportunity to revise and resubmit.
Plagiarism check
All proposals will be checked for plagiarism. If plagiarism is discovered, you will fail this course.
Proposal evaluation
I will evaluate your proposal using the following criteria:
1. Statement of the problem: Is the problem clearly described? Is there a review of relevant literature? Have all claims been supported? Are you relying on empirical studies? Is your study filling a gap?
2. Research question: Is your research question about a relationship? Is it answerable through research?
3. Methodology: Is the proposed methodology appropriate for the proposed research question?
4. References: Are you following APA in references and citations?
