  • What do they think the main obstacles lie i.e. local authority, planning sector or planning policies
  • Have they been impacted by the recent government planning policies
  • Changes in the situation of first time buyers
  • What are the financial issues
  • Look at their annual reports, see what are their national strategies
  • Look at their policy statement (developer) and how they are implementing it
  • Look at their financial aspects. If they say that they are struggling then see what their annual reports say about: EXPANSION/MARKET GROWTH / PROFITS
  • LOCAL POLICIES
  • LOCAL PLANS
  • HOUSING TARGETS ARE REALISTIC?
  • Are they going to expand on their output and future plans

 

Look at:

  • local plans
  • strategic plans
  • what developers doing are they doing greenbelt
  • housing built targets
  • growth area
  • urban regeneration
  • Policy reviews
  • Any variation between documents and what they told you
  • How many different house builder are active

 

 

Planners

  • First see whats going on in district
  • How do you formulate policies
  • How they change
  • How they are successful in implementing these policies
  • Is there any new entrance in local authority (new entrance to house building, from holiday homes to new homes etc.)
