Re: Proposed Topic for Technical Report In response to the RFP, published on March 7, 2018, the purpose of this proposal is to outlines my topic and proposed plan to writing the recommendation report. This proposal identifies the products being investigated, projects a writing schedule, outlines my qualifications, and lists primary and secondary sources. Background: The CEO of new Human Resource Department at Employee Management Inc is in the process of buying and installing new Desktop computers at his/her department. They specialize in properly distributing employees to various job locations based on the needs of the job nature as well as the skills possessed by the specific employee.With the nature of the work this department provide and the expansion of their company, working on computers will increase their productivity and decrease their expenses. Three desktop computers will be compared; however, each must be able to run Linux Operating System. Thus, the following three computers will be compared and analyzed: HP Z240, ThinkCentre M900 Tower, and XPS 8700.Each computer must have sufficient memory to store large files, high speed computing capability, and Microsoft Office installed. By suggesting one desktop computer for purchase, the Human Resources Management at Employee Management Inc will be able to work more efficiently and alsosave time and maintenance money. Proposed Plan: In order to begin writing the report, I found that the best strategy is to follow the planoutlined below: 1. Search the college Library for primary sources:I need a primary source that explain in a nutshell the PC hardware and compatibility with different Operating Systems. 2. Determine the client’s needs: the client requires desktop computers that have very specific requirements. 3. Begin searching availableproducts: I will begin using the Internet to find more about available computers and their specifications. 4. Compare the data collected:based on the four criteria mentioned above, I will compare the computers and recommend the best one. Tentative Schedule: Activity Time Required Dates Research Library for Primary sources. 2 hours March 28, 2017 Look for top PC brands that meets requirements 3 hours March 30, 2017 Write body of report 8 hours April 01, 2017 Write prefatory and supplementary sections 6 hours April10, 2017 Review and Edit 2 hours April 18, 2017 Qualifications: Throughout the past five years I have worked in a couple of computer-based work environment and I have also worked as IT for 1 year. Therefore, I have a general knowledge of computers, their uses in a work environment, and their maintenance. In addition, I have taken three college courses about computer concepts, software and hardware, and basic computer programming, C++.
