This assessment will allow students to explore the impact of large-scale events on hosting locations and strategies used to manage successful event operations. In addition, students will explore the importance of synergy between the tourism, hospitality and events industries in meeting & exceeding consumer expectations. In groups of 3-4 members, students are required to research an existing major or mega event and present their findings. The lecturer will assign an event to each group to ensure that all groups in the class present information relating to different events. Each group will be required to complete a 20-minute presentation, supported by visual aids (PowerPoint slides, images, videos, etc.). These visual aids should be eye-catching, clear to read and professional in nature. All group members must speak during the presentation and contribute to the development of visual aids.
