Please notify the Instructor of the chosen condition in advance, for approval. This paper should include all current documentation and up-to-date research on the condition. The case study will need to discuss all pertinent functional anatomy, known causes and how the condition presents. This paper will also encompass five actual assessments and treatments of a client who is symptomatic of the condition. Please find a client, friend or family member who is symptomatic of a condition that has been presented within this years curriculum texts or study guides. The chosen client will need to be available for five separate sessions in which a full assessment (HOPRS) is documented and treatment is performed each time. It is not necessary for this person to be diagnosed by a physician as having the condition you choose, only that their symptoms correlate with the condition you are focusing your research on. Students are required to properly acknowledge references within the case study using the Modern Language Association (MLA) format. MLA uses in-text citations that correspond with a Works Cited page found at the end of your paper. There are many MLA citation generators on the internet to help properly cite all sources. Also, students can access this concise and easy guide written by Eric Garcia at http://library.csun.edu/egarcia/documents/mlacitation_quickguide.pdf The purpose of the case study is to track and evaluate assessments, charting and treatments on a continuing basis. It is a valuable learning experience which will allow student to recognize abilities in action while monitoring progression over an extended time period with a client. Researching the condition gives students the benefit of being expertly knowledgeable about the suspected pathology as assessment, treatment, charting and re- assessment unfolds.
