The main body of the brochure must integrate your disease from material from reference books, and your own research (from outside sources) on your selected disease. Use paragraph format. 3- 4 folds should be used for the brochure. Microsoft word and Microsoft publisher both have templates that can be used to create your brochure.
Graphs and pictures should be included and will make the brochure more appealing. However they are limited to the 3-4 folds of your brochure. Your target audience is your classmates. Use terminology found in your text and avoid laymen’s terms.
Original Color Copy will be submitted to the instructor and black and white copies are distributed to students in the class (20) on the day of your presentation. Late brochures will not be accepted.
The Disease Brochure will be due after the 3rd Exam. No Exceptions.
The brochure must be typed, 12 font, single-spaced and use images and, or diagrams. Correct grammar, neatness, and attention to detail are required. Make it interesting and Be Creative. Use more words than pictures. Use the front and back of your brochure to convey information about your disease topic.
Background – What is the History of your disease? How was the disease discovered? What is the Etiology, or cause of the disease? What is the Pathophysiology or the course of the disease? Describe the Signs and Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment and Long-term prognosis of your disease.
Content – Complete background Research on disease. Are there any new discoveries or new approaches to treatment of your disease? Demonstrate your ability to relate your disease to this background information. Do you know someone that has this disease? Interview them and include it in you presentation.
