ubmitted this paper, but the quality of the results wasn’t what I’ve expected. I will attached the previous papers so the writer has an idea and can probably fix the mistakes made. Also I have the annotated notes from the professor with all the corrections. A very common error is citations, always missing sources in text. The paper needs to be based on 2012 reports. It needs to be very specific about Royal Caribbean, not the cruise lines in general. TRIMESTER PROJECT (Research Component). Each student will research and write a term paper that will be due in Week 12 of the trimester. This project is the culmination and application of all of the learning that has been facilitated during the trimester. The thesis of the paper is a complete financial summary analysis (trend and industry) of a publicly traded company to include any recommendations regarding the company. The project will be as complete as possible and will include a thorough S.W.O.T. analysis, a document that charts the trend of the stock price, and an analysis of the financial statements. The analysis should describe the student’s review of the data, financial ratios, an opinion regarding the corporation’s financial condition, and the supporting rationale for that opinion. It should be noted that the analysis of the financial statements is the heart of the paper; thus, the majority of the paper will be dedicated to this section. Reflection and analysis as well as comparing and contrasting are important to the completion of this project. Critical thinking and analysis (not just copying data from various sources) is expected. The student may use any outside data and assistance that is thought to be necessary, but appropriate credit must be given for the work, language, and ideas of others. Required Project Outline with Questions to Consider in Completing the Analysis (Questions are for consideration only. They are not meant to be all-inclusive. Many other factors may be considered in writing this report.)
Phase 1 1. Title Page The title page should contain the name of the project and all other information required on a standard APA title page. The title page should be numbered “1.” Note: The title page MUST have a running head and header. See Sections 2.01 on page 23 and 8.03 on pages 229-230 in the APA Manual. Also see the document “How to Create a Title Page” located in the Course Documents section of Blackboard.
2. Table of Contents The table of contents is a listing of everything contained in the paper and where it is located in the document. Papers that contain a variety of charts and figures may also have a table of exhibits listing their titles and page numbers within the report. The Table of Contents begins with the paper and develops as the paper does. Note: See sample page on the APA link in the Library website.
3. Abstract (This section is not completed until the final Phase 3 version). This section presents an abbreviated overview of the entire paper for quick management skimming (a maximum of 250 words). The abstract should be on a page by itself numbered “2.” Note: See pages 25-27, 2.04, in the APA Manual.
4. Introduction (Chapter One) This section of the paper must be “introduced” as a major heading (level 1). Essentially, the introduction “introduces” the project and describes the purpose of the paper and what will be accomplished through completion of the project. This section should be no more than 1-2 pages.
Note: See pages 27-28, 2.05, in the APA Manual. Although the APA Manual does not require a specific “Introduction” major heading, the Management program requires it for clarification for this paper.
5. Background This section provides brief factual account of history/ background information on the organization (s) which should be limited to no more than one page
6. Mission Statement Evaluation, recommendation, & possible re-write of corporation’s mission statement. (What is a mission statement? Use a scholarly definition. What is its importance to the organization? What is the mission of the organization you have chosen? Is it appropriate for the business it is in? Does the corporation “live” its mission? Should it be rewritten? If so, what should it be? Can it be compared to the mission statement of a major competitor?)
Analysis of Internal Environment: (Internal environment consists of board of directors, corporate culture, and employees. Use scholarly definitions here.)
7. Board of Directors Who is the BOD? What kinds of people make up the BOD, and what expertise do they bring to the firm? Does the composition of the BOD impact the way the firm is run or its strategic direction? How are they compensated for their time? Do any of them own significant amounts of stock? What is their gender, age background – is there diversity?
8. Senior Management Who is the senior management team? What kinds of people make up the senior management, and what expertise do they bring to the firm? Does the composition of senior management impact the way the firm is managed? What is their compensation package—salary, deferred income, stock options? Do any of them own significant amounts of stock? The percentage and number of shares owned by each of these people should be reported. Is the salary for the CEO justified in light of the corporation’s current performance? Why or why not? Refer to the Prospectus, Annual Report, and l0-K documents.
9. Corporate Culture What is corporate culture? Use a scholarly definition. Why is it important? What kind of corporate culture do you observe with your company?
10. SWOT Analysis Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (What is SWOT analysis? Use a scholarly definition. Why is it done? What does the SWOT analysis tell you about the viability of the organization, the industry, and the environment of the firm you have chosen?)
11. Organizational Goals & Objectives Why are organizational goals and objectives important? What are the goals and objectives of this organization? Are the goals appropriate? Why or why not? Give an example of what you have observed to justify your response.
12. Litigation Pending Refer to the 10-K and Notes to the Financial Statements for indication of any pending litigation.
What are the sources of this litigation? What is the potential financial impact? What does management say about the validity of the litigation? What evidence can you find about this potential threat in articles?
13. The Management Report The purpose of the management report (also called “Responsibility for Financial Reporting” report) is to define management’s responsibility in preparation and disclosure of the financial statements. If management gives a report, it is usually located near the auditor’s report. Read the management report carefully and answer the following questions concerning its content:
According to the management report, who bears the responsibility for the integrity of the financial statements?
What means does management use to assure that the financial information is reliable?
An audit committee is comprised of several members of the board of directors. This committee acts as the liaison between the independent auditor and the corporation. What is the responsibility of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors?
Phase 2 (Chapter Two)

Should the marketing strategies be changed? How? Those students who have completed the marketing course should incorporate learning from this course into this section.
16. Overall Strategy Evaluation and Analysis. What is the overall strategy of this corporation? How is it used to compete in the environment?

Note: The areas of Trend Analysis, Analysis of Organization’s Financial Statements, Sources and Methods of Financing, and Ratio Analysis are areas of concentration for this report. Other areas may be brief, but these issues must be addressed in detail—complete with critical thinking and analysis. The student must keep copies of all reference material used for this portion of the paper and turn them in to the instructor upon request. Late papers and/or papers without reference material will not be accepted. This section of the trimester project should contain a minimum of 8-10 pages of text, not including the reference list. The reference list should be a continuation of references from Phase 1 and now Phase 2. Do not turn in the text from the Phase 1 paper. As a guideline, the paper should also contain a minimum of 10 items on the reference list that are cited throughout the body of the paper. The reference list should be a continuation of references and include all references from Phase 1 and Phase 2. Do not include the corrected text from Phase 1. Other areas may be brief, but these issues must be addressed in detail—complete with critical thinking and analysis. The student must keep copies of all reference material used for this portion of the paper and turn them in to the instructor upon request. Late papers and/or papers without reference material will not be accepted.
Phase 3 of the trimester project should contain a minimum of 6-8 pages of text, not including the reference list. As a guideline, this section of the paper should also contain a minimum of 10 items on the reference list that are cited throughout the body of the paper.
Each student’s entire trimester project will vary in length. As a guideline, the entire project will contain at least 20 pages of text and at least 15 – 20 items on the reference list that are cited throughout the body of the paper.
It should also be noted that the paper will be due week 12 in its entirety. This includes any corrections and revisions that have been made to Phases 1 and 2. Note that the student should turn in ONE document which contains all of the information from Phase 1, 2, and 3. This document is due in week 12 in BlackBoard – The paper is turned in electronically via BlackBoard only – no hard copy is required.
