Module 5 begins by discussing that cybercrime could costcompanies globally 5.2 trillion dollars over the next few years. It isimportant to be aware of these crimes and the impact they have on businesses aswell as individuals.
- Research to find some companies, other than those discussed in the module, that have been impacted by cybercrime. Select a company, discuss the company and the cybercrime that was perpetrated against the company. Discuss the impact that the cybercrime had on the company and its customers. Include the company name, the date, the type of cybercrime, and the cost associated with the cybercrime.
- Because of the increased awareness of cybercrimes, companies are working to protect against cybercrimes both through employee training initiatives and by implementing security measures. Research to find how some companies are implementing strategies to protect against cybercrimes. Discuss the companies briefly as well as specific measures that the companies are implementing. Also, include whether the security measures are in direct response to a cyberattack or a preventive measure.
- E-collaboration has been an important tool for businesses in the past and has become even more vital in the recent past. Discuss some tools that businesses are utilizing for virtual meetings such as Zoom or WebEx. Discuss the benefits of businesses utilizing these tools as well as some of the disadvantages that could be associated with these tools.
- Mobile computing has become important in many industries for a variety of reasons. Research to determine some strategies that are being implemented by businesses in the realm of mobile computing such as the BYOD strategy as well as mobile devices being used for workers who are in the field. Discuss the strategies being utilized by businesses to include some of the advantages being realized by the business and some of the risks and how the risks are being mitigated.
