Writing a memo
- Thoroughly read through the instructions on pages 115-116 of your workbook for the Memo assignment, specifically. Keep in mind that this assignment is not an outline. It is a memo and the purpose of this memo is to make the reader (me) aware of a problem, explain a proposed solution, and get my permission to use this topic for your final speech. You should show that you can present an effective argument to the class. Please be sure to carefully read all of the instructions for this assignment before beginning. Please read over them once more before you submit your memo. This assignment is worth 50 points.
- You will also lose 20 points if this memo is about a different topic from the one in your Fact/Value Outline.
- THERE ARE NOORGANIZATION PATTERNS THAT YOU CAN USE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT! This is a different assignment from any of the outlines you have completed thus far. Please see the example Memo on pages 119-120 for the exact format you should be using.
- You MUST support your proposal using at least TWOcontent notes as explained in the instructions and on the example. You will want to format the footnotes exactly as they appear in the example memo. If you are having trouble doing so, please email me. (Pro-tip…..if you know how to enter a footnote on Word, use that same function for your content notes.).
