Deuteronomy 3:27-28

Moses never lived to see his people cross into the Holy Land; rather, he was instructed to train Joshua to complete this task. This had to be a bitter-sweet moment in the old patriarchs life. For more than a generation, Moses led the chosen people to Gods Promised Land, yet when that crowning achievement was within reach, he passed the baton onto a younger (relatively speaking), less experienced (again, relatively speaking) subordinate.

But Moses was no ordinary Human Resources developer. He was a man of vision, and knew Joshua had within him the things he, Moses, lacked to finish the job. He had invested in this young leader, not for a few months, but for years, knowing full well that Joshua had it in him, so to speak. No, Moses didnt take the company to the next level, but he sure did train the generation that did.

Consider the areas in your life where the Lord has asked you to be the developer of anothers success. How did you handle such a time?
