In A Christmas Carol It shows Scrooge changing his point of view of not caring about people and helping others because in Stave Five it shows that it is never too late to change who you are and become a better person.
Charles Dickens uses the character Scrooge in A Christmas Carol to convey that a person’s business should be caring about others and always helping others which makes Scrooge’s life full of unhappiness because he thought that he should be working everyday.
Scrooge thought that business was going to work and making money because he only had happiness once when he was with his fiance Bell and was working with Mr. Feewing. Soon Bell broke off the engagement because Scrooge was focused on money too much and not caring about bell. Scrooge sat alone at the boarding school when his parents didn’t come and pick him up while the other kids went home for Christmas. Scrooge has been a rude,cruel,and a greedy person from that day his parents didn’t come pick him up from the boarding school. Which made a huge impact on how Scrooge views people in his life because he didn’t have anything to look forward to because he didn’t have anything that brought him happiness anymore. In The Treasure of Lemon Brown Greg went to the old abandoned warehouse and saw Lemon Brown , he asked Lemon if his treasure was real but soon Lemon showed Greg that his treasure was when he had all of his memories of his life a long time ago like the news papers, clippings,the photos, and the harmonica and his son who died in the war. It kept Lemon moving on in life because he could remember when he was happy. In addition scrooge’s idea of a man’s business is scrooge has been lonely ever since he was engaged with Bell. Bell noticed that Scrooge was focusing More on money than her Scrooge changed his definition of business and its impact because Scrooge learned from the three spirits because the Ghost of Christmas yet to come showed Scrooge his gravestone and promised that he would change to become a better person. In The Treasure Of Lemon Brown Greg learned that he should enjoy the moments that he has because when Lemon Brown told Greg how his son had died in the war Greg had realized that his dad might be right about the basketball team.Therefore a person can change and it is never too late to change who you are and become a better person because Greg said that Lemon Brown’s treasures wasn’t gold because Greg thought treasue could only be something that had a lot of worth to it. To Lemon his treasure meat a lot to him .But for Scrooge his past was not happy as Lemon Browns’. Although Scrooge was a very rude and greedy person at the end of stave five the ghost showed Scrooge the three men on the stairs talking about someone who has died and laughing how some people will only come for the food because the men were never nice or cared about anything who scrooge assumed that they were talking about him because that how people view him as a person. Overall it is never too late to change who you are and become a better person.
Scrooge changed as a person who never cared about anything or anyone but his work to having Christmas spirits, caring about others and giving the men who asked for charity money to help the people in the town .
