Practice Reading Response to “You’ll Love the Way We Fly”

Read through Lori Jakiela’s essay”You’ll Love the Way We Fly” then post your response here.   Don’t worry about grammar, spelling, or punctuation.  Read through the questions below and choose one to focus on.  Go with your first idea; don’t spend time thinking about how you’re going to respond. –Why do you think the author wrote this essay?  What does she want the readers to gain from reading the essay? What does she want us to come away with?

–Have you had similar experiences to the author?  Describe your experience(s) and explain how they relate to hers. Be specific.

–Does this essay remind you of anything in your own life, in the news, in your reading or in the behavior of people you know? Explain and describe.

–What do you think about the author’s writing style?  How does it catch your attention? Or, if it doesn’t, what don’t you find effective.  Use specific examples from her writing to explain what you think works and/or what doesn’t work for you as a reader.
