Character Sketch
I add two examples that my teacher gave me of examples of character sketches

And now for something totally different.
Your last essay is a character sketch. A Ch. sketch is a short story, either fiction or nonfiction, and your main focus is not theme or plot; its characterization. Your goal here is, through the telling of a story (and NOT the description of a person), to reveal something about a person.
So, if you want readers to know that your main character is a jerk, dont say, Rod was a jerk. Instead, show Rod being a jerk with how he acts and what he says . . . and then after finishing the story, your readers say to themselves, Wow, what a jerk, without you ever using the word jerk . . . or any synonyms, either.
Put your characters in situations, use dialogue, relationships, subtle clues, careful details, physical description, etc. to reveal things about who your character is.
Have fun on this one.
Use MLA format, with a target length of 3-4 pages. The essay is due when you take your final.
