This paper allows studentsflexibility on the topic they would like to focus on for their research project. It also provides students the opportunity to go more in depth into a particular area of development.
The paper will be a fifteen – page paper. It should be based on library research and shouldbe an extensive and critical review of the literature on a well-defined current issue in the field that you find it is important.

- The paper must be word-processed, double spaced in 12-point font using Times New Roman with 1-inch margins (with no additional spaces between paragraphs).
- This assignment is designed to develop your skills in reading and analyzing peer-reviewed empirical research. Your references thus are very important both in the number used and the quality of thesources. You need a minimum of twelve articles. These articles should be peer reviewed journal articles. In line with APA style, be sure to document the literature. Always paraphrase and use your own words and give credit to the author.
- This is a research paper and NOT a reflection paper, a self-analysis paper, or a case study. It is an example of thoughtful and polished technical writing, and it requires multiplerounds of revision and editing. You are asked to present a balanced and critical picture of the present state of research on your topic. Although there is room for opinion this should be done after you have presented the relevant research.
