Once you’ve read the essay, if you are in the POSTING group, answer the following by Wednesday at 11:59 PM.
These essays explore two opposing systems of thought: Buddhist notions of reconciliation, which stress that revenge is not OK, and the concept of blood vengeance, whose whole existance is predicated on the idea that revenge is the answer. How does reconciliation differ from revenge? Do you think it is more restorative or not?
This assignment asks you to reflect on your work during the final week of class. It should be four paragraphs long.
Paragraph 1: 7-10 sentences. Reflect on this week’s discussion posts. Look for any patterns, contradictions, or statements that stood out to you. Make sure to quote at least one classmate.
Paragraph 2: 7-10 sentences: What is something this week that stood out to you. Why?
Paragraph 3: 7-10 sentences: What idea or concept challenged you this week? Why? This could be an intellectual challenge or a challenge to your worldview.
Paragraph 4: 7-10 sentences: How did the folktales you encountered this week compare to the materials you encountered in the last two weeks?
