As part of the course requirements, you will write a research paper.  The research paper will be an in-depth analysis of one of the following topicsForeign Aid, Microfinance, Fast Fashion (Factories in Developing World, Secondhand Clothing Trade, Environmental Impact of Fast Fashion, etc.), Drug Testing in the Developing World, Corporate Social Responsibility, Poverty-Industrial Complex.  You must use the ethical frameworks covered in the course material to address your topic.

After choosing your topic, identify the ethic question/s central to your study.  Once you have identified the central questions, choose the region of the world or country in which you will focus your research.  Your analysis must also include the ways in which two actors  (States, NGOs, IOs, MNCs, individuals) in the international community interact/s with the ethical issue you have chosen to analyze.  At the end of your analysis, you should reach a conclusion on the way in which the global community /global actors should ethically respond to your chosen global issue.

Your paper should begin with a clear introduction outlining the topic you have chosen and the ethical issues raised in your topic.  Your introduction should include a clear thesis statement and road map for the subsequent body paragraphs supporting your thesis.  You should use scholarly research to support your central argument with specific data as well as utilize at least two of the ethical theories from the course material to come to an ethical decision regarding the global issue.  Clearly explain how the ethic theoretical framework supports your conclusions, address an ethical framework that may not support your conclusion and why you rejected that framework in favor of the others supporting your conclusion (e.g. the other framework provided better outcomes for a greater number of people, protection human rights and human dignity, etc.).  You should also include data demonstrating the global impact of your conclusion, highlighting global interconnectedness and the importance of global sustainability.

The mechanics/style of your paper are important.  Your paper should have a clearly articulated thesis statement and well-structured paragraphs.  The thesis should be supported with scholarly sources throughout the paper and these sources should be contextualized and analyzed within the paper.  It is important that the paper is clear, coherent and concise.  The paper should be free of grammatical, punctuation and mechanical errors.  The paper should be between 1500-2500 words and must include a word count as well as a works cited page and in-text citations (you can use your preferred citation method).
