Guidelines: Please read chapters 1 and 2 (Lowi et al). Use the following points to help formulate your thoughts, then write a reflection paper  on the tension between representation and governance.
1. Briefly discuss the forms of government highlighted in the reading. What are the key differences between democracy and the other forms of government?
2. Who are the bourgeousie? Discuss the role they played in the emergence of modern democracy?
3. Define and summarize the concept, forms, and practice of representation.
4. Explain in your own words the Condorcet’s Paradox? Use examples to illustrate your answer. Why did the framers of US constitution think indirect elections would help address some of the contradictions between representation and governance
5. What surprised you the most in reviewing chapters 1 and 2, and why? That is, what new things did you learn or something you knew already but gained a deeper understanding in reading chapter 1 and 2?
PS: Provide reference (Lowi et al plus any other sources you use) and follow the APA style citation. See WCC Library for information on APA citation. Blackboard checks for plagiarized content so please provide attribution (citation) and sources for claims, facts, data etc.
