I have attached a copy of my research paper proposal which my professor has approved. I originally intended to narrow the topic to include only the treatment of Alcoholism with LSD therapy however I am worried that may narrow the scope of research too much? I am wondering if it would be easier to leave it more open ended and investigate its effects on “substance abuse”. I am fine with whatever you find easiest to find primary sources on! In the attached proposal there are some reference sources I found that may be useful to you. Below I am copying and pasting the advice my professor gave me upon approving the topic. She gives fairly clear advice on how she wants the paper organized which seems helpful.

Thank you for your outline Kelly. It looks as though it is shaping up to be an interesting paper on LSD and the brain. The introduction may be short and succinct letting the reader know what is coming up and providing some definitions. The body should be in subsections illuminating LSD’s effects on the brain including neurotransmitter activity involved and ideas for treatment/risks. The conclusion may be the wrap up and include ideas for further research. The reference section must be at least 1-2 pages of primary scientific journal articles with little reliance on the web or books.
It is a good idea to read over the relevant sections in the student manual regarding guidelines to writing a term paper, required length (3500-4500 words) and use of APA format.
