Icebreaker Discussion (week 1)
As a way to get to know each other and settle in for the course, please share with the class your interests in the arts and the humanities. Have you recently read, watched, or listened to any arts (e.g., literature, art, music, dance, film, etc.) that inspire your thinking of the themes in the humanities? If you are not sure what the prominent themes are, browse a bit of the textbook, The Art of Being Human. It will provide you with some ideas.
You may begin your icebreaker post by telling the class the most interesting or memorable artwork you’ve seen, heard, read, or experienced. It doesn’t need to be a “masterpiece,” just a work that moves you or really got you excited about the lyric, sounds, colors, plot, character, movements, or the human experiences.
You are welcome to attach an image of or a link to your selected artwork. Make sure to provide a caption to the artwork.
